Day Twelve is here! This weekend I took a break from the regular horizontal streams due to some obligations, but don't worry - I kept streaming every time I drank anything!

Saturday morning I had coordinated with some wonderful individuals on Facebook to rehome our dog Poe, whom we adopted a little over a year ago.  Poe's new home is in Kendall, Washington, in the North Cascades, near the US-Canada border. I live in South Puget Sound area, making this roughly a 2.5 hour drive from our house. I left fairly early on Saturday, around 6:30am, with Poe in the passenger seat, and a large deconstructed crate taking up the remainder of the car.

As I started driving North, I hopped on Facebook Live several times, to drink some caffeine and water, and continue my challenge.  As I was driving North, I considered how much of a journey this was compared to my normal day to day life.  We consider an hour a long work commute, so a half day trip that takes six hours to head there and back is an eternity. And yet, every single day, millions of individuals take longer, daily journeys to gather water for their family.

They don't have cars.

They don't have entertainment like music or podcasts.

They don't have a choice.

They either take this daily journey, or they perish, along with their family. When we take a journey, even just six hours in a car ride, it requires scheduling and preparation. If we are going on a six hour hike we plan it ahead of time, bring snacks, and ironically, water. What a luxury we have to make our journeys an enjoyable, thought out experience.

We are so fortunate.

Here all the streams from Saturday if you want to watch me rambling on about the Global Water Crisis from a car!
